Jamie's News
Jamie seems to meet people he knows whenever we go out places. Involvement with various sporting teams certainly helps this and like the other boys Jamie loves the extra time outdoors and the greater access to sport.
The Hutt team which Nigel coaches lost their semi-final in the very last second of the match. This meant that we played our nemesis team Tawa, who had beaten us all three times we had played them during the season, in the 3rd/4th playoff while two teams we had beaten twice met in the final. It was a really exciting end to the season and the boys came from behind to win 3-1. I really like this picture taken by one of the parents when we went ahead, they all look so happy!
Jamie's Wellington Rep Team lost in the final of the Regional Tournament to a strong Horowhenua team. Nigel's Development team had great fun and were unbeaten against development teams all season. Overall a very good season and we met a lot of really interesting people.
Jamie continues to be proud of his Scottish heritage. His piping is coming on with weekly lessons. He is not quite at the stage of people paying him to play but he has got beyond the stage of people paying him to stop!
He wore his kilt to play in the talent quest at school and came third. Jamie also enjoys art and did well in the art competition too. At the school prizegiving he was awarded Sports Honours and a Commendation for his school work.
Jamie has started playing cricket this year. It has been a steep learning curve and he is discovering that it can be a cruel game. He bats like his Dad and needs to learn what a defensive shot is and when to play it! His bowling is better than his Dad's and he has taken a wicket or two most games. He is hoping for a bat of his own for Christmas.
Jamie and Luke have both being enjoying Seismic at church. Jamie's other news is that he has just started wearing contact lenses which he is liking far more than wearing glasses.
